Let’s start this week from where I left off last week. I went on an adventure to Glendalough with some friends, last Saturday. The drive alone is worth mentioning. The views change so quickly on Irish roads from city buzz to rustling leaves on trees to cork screw narrow roads all to you. I really enjoy driving alone with a great album or a new play list inflicting its emotion on me. My choice on this trip was perfect all about escaping. Turin Breaks Album “The Optimist”. It had been some time since I listened to it so I fell in love with all over again. Once I arrived, I immediately thought about taking the long way home. The photos uploaded last week are from this little hike. From this walk, I have decided to spend some time looking at trees. I hope to have a sketchbook of intensely studied exogenous trees.
For the duration of the week, I kept myself very busy as usual. I went to the theatre for a showing of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which was a lot of fun. The costumes were spectacular! My girlfriends called off for a night of pampering on Thursday. I found a new talent for hairdressing so if the Art world does not want me I at least can try that. For now, though I will continue to dream. I spray painted my new but second hand classic fold up bike, Red. I still have some coats to do but I am documenting the process for you. My dear friend and colleague Chiz is currently helping design my tattoo. It has been a work in process for more than two years at this stage. I really like her ideas and I soon am meeting a new tattoo artist to see what she can bring to this piece. For my day off this week, I went home. My family all live there. I do not live far away from them but now that my siblings have children even one week without a visit is monstrous amount of change in their children’s development. I reckon they’ll be mentioned quite a bit to you, so I will introduce them Conor is a curious and strong nine month old boy, Chloe is just coming up to seven months old and loves being cuddled as ,much as we all love to cuddle her. Then there is Sabha the first grandchild. She is now three years old and will not be four until October, meaning it is another year until she begins school. I have never met a child more ready for school it is such a shame she has to wait.
Friday night was an adventurous one. I had a few friends over and managed to convince them to come with me to the country side/ hilly sea side view location at midnight. The reason being was to star gaze. I had been told about the meteor showers during the month of august and Friday night being the best night (weather permitting) for spotting them. We went on our merry way with blankets, jumpers and booze in hand. Caught the last train out of the city and when we finally arrived at our destination, we enjoyed the children’s disserted playground.
I started this week’s blog on Saturday in a walled public garden in the middle of the city centre. It is a small oasis for the business people during the weekdays but at the weekend, for the residence, it is much more than that. It is where we get a respite and escape. Yet I am only finsihing this weeks entry now. I don't have much to show of this week but il post a few images on Saturday of what I have been up to.
Ciao For now *V*
I'm looking for a tatoo for myself too - do you know if your friend would be up for designing one for me? :)
